Caring Mentors Help New Mothers Learn To Care For Their Infants in our  "Earn While You Learn Program"

We are always looking for women who have a heart for young mothers and their babies. Especially now as some of our volunteer mommy mentors have either moved away, had a new baby or have taken on new challenges at church.

What does a mommy mentor do?

Mommy mentors meet one on one with an expectant mother (at the center)  for about an hour or so a week. The mommy mentor offers encouragement  and education through videos, oral lessons, and homework assignments on topics relevant to the expectant mothers stage of pregnancy, specific areas such as learning to bond early with their infant, how to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, pre-natal care, nutrition, practical issues such as money management, budgeting and much more. The client then earns mommy money that can be used in our resource room to purchase brand new baby clothes and baby furniture.

If you are interested in becoming a mommy mentor please contact Teresa by calling 217- 245-9340, email jacksonville@hopeforafuture.com or stop by our office located at 26 S. Central Park Plaza in downtown Jacksonville, on the southwest side of the square, in front of the coffee shop. We will be glad to work with your current schedule. Mommy mentors are needed mornings, afternoons, and early evenings Monday through Friday.

The Pregnancy Resource Center ministry requires a team of believers praying daily for the staff, volunteers, and clients.  If you would be willing to pray for the PRC, please let us know.
